This ongoing documentary we dive deep into the evolution of Sri Lankan art and visual aesthetics across centuries. It meticulously examines the shifts in aesthetics, perceptions, and techniques in Sri Lankan art throughout the pre-modern, transitional, and modern eras. Particularly fascinating is the exploration of how temple art reflects the indigenous people’s responses to colonialism, showcasing both resistance and acceptance. By delving into this project, we seek to decode the intricate dynamics of Sri Lankan image perception and visual communication practices and how they perceive and communicate through imagery.
