The Three Wheeler Diaries (Sinhalese: ත්රීවීල් ඩයරීස්) Dennis Pereira’s debut feature film, was filmed in 2010-11, but completion was halted due to the unexpected shutdown of the production company during the post-production stage. The director hopes to complete the work and release the film in the near future.
Synopsis
The Three Wheeler Diaries features Jagath and Thusitha, two Sri Lankan buddies totally hyped after watching The Motorcycle Diaries (2004, directed by Walter Salles). The two young men are itching to hit the road and see if Sri Lanka’s got the mojo for a socialist revolution. Since they’re broke, they come up with an unconventional plan: they buddy up with Vasanthi, a savvy lady of the night, aiming to use her street smarts to fund their journey. Along the way, they find themselves in some seriously unexpected situations. Their adventure is a wild ride they never saw coming.
